The Montello Public Library is the heart of the city of Montello.  We are a lifelong learning institute that empowers people with materials, services, and a welcoming staff.  We also add an economic boom to downtown Montello, as many of our partners (patrons and community players) frequent local businesses. It is our mission to assist all of our partners with their educational, recreational, and cultural needs.  Today we circulate more than 54,600 items annually.  Come visit us today!

You are your child’s first and most important teacher!  You know your child best and can work with them at times when they are in the mood to learn.  There are six pre-reading skills that children must have in order to learn to read.  By reading to your child and spending time with them, you can help your child to learn the following:

 

2012 Montello Library Summer Teen Read Sign Up: Moon Over Manifest (Entering Grade 6 & up)

The book for this year’s Teen Read at the Montello Public Library is “Moon Over Manifest,” winner of the 2011 Newbery Award, the American Library Association’s award for most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.  We are asking for interested students to please visit the library to sign up for this program; the library will be purchasing copies of the book for all participants.  The deadline for sign-up for the “Teen Read” is May 1 so that we will have enough time to order and receive the books.

Friday Storytime (10:30 a.m.): Celebrate Dr. Seuss at the Montello Public Library

Join us for storytime during the month of March at the Montello Public Library.  Miss Judy will be celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday with stories, games, and related activities.
