Beginning on Monday, November 3rd, 2014, Montello Public Library will change to a Fall/Winter hours schedule. We continue to offer 44 open hours, but have restructured the times based on attendance records and community feedback.  We are hoping this change better serves more of our patrons and our community! Our new hours until further notice will be:
Monday            10am to 6pm             Thursday         10am to 6pm
Tuesday          10am to 6pm              Friday                 9am to 5pm
Wednesday    10am to 6pm              Saturday            9am to 1pm

The Montello Public Library will host Author Genevieve Davis for an author talk regarding her Wisconsin History book, Secret Life, Secret Death.  The talk will take place on Monday, October 20 at 6:00 p.m.  For further information, call at the library at  608.297.7544 or visit www.secretlifesecretdeath.com

SECRET LIFE, SECRET DEATH is a non-fiction mystery, in which Author Genevieve Davis unravels the true story of a young mother who fell into crime, in Gangland Chicago in the Roaring 20’s and later ran a shady hotel in Wisconsin during the Depression.   The author leads you through the unglamorized underworld of gangsters in Wisconsin and Chicago, as she hunts down the family secret.

Story Time is back!!

Please join us at Montello Public Library (in the meeting room) beginning this Friday, September 5 for our preschool story time!  We will be trying something new this time around, and we will have a "free play" time at 10:00 a.m. with the story to follow at 10:30. Miss Judy will be reading on September 5 and 19 this month, and Anne will be reading on September 26. We are currently looking for a reader for September 12, so if you are interested, please give Andrea a call at the library to discuss - 608-297-7544. We are occasionally in need of sub readers for other dates as well, so call if you would like to be on the list for that. See you Friday!

Raising a Thinking Child class starts Monday, September 8th
Offered by Sue Allen and Mary Ann Schilling,  UW‐Extension Marquette and Waushara Counties  Family Living Educators

The “I CAN PROBLEM SOLVE” approach for parents and caregivers of children ages 4‐7.
The words that parents and caregivers use with children help children think and independently solve problems,
reducing conflict and stress, and teaching lifelong skills. Parents and caregivers will:
- Learn to use the “I Can Problem Solve” discipline ladder
- Use word pairs to build a vocabulary for problem solving
- Give children skills to solve problems
- Help children take into account their own and other’s feelings
The 12‐hour class is spread over eight Monday evenings: September 8, 15, 22, 29, October 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2014.
- Light family meal: 5:00‐5:30 p.m.
- Class: 5:30‐7:00 p.m.
- Location: Forest Lane Elementary School, Room 151, 222 Forest Lane, Montello
- Free child care in Room 119 (4K classroom)
- Fee or Scholarship: $25 per individual or couple pays for class and materials.
Please request partial or full scholarship if $25 is a hardship. $10 gas reimbursement per family each week, if helpful.

Forms for sign up are available at Montello Public Library in the front hallway/lobby on the bulletin board.

Class is limited to 12 adults - Registrations accepted with payment or scholarship request on a first-come, first-serve basis by Wed. September 3, 2014
