Dear Friends and Patrons:
Recently, at our Friends of the Library meeting, we made the decision to try something new with the Silent Auction this year.
We are once again a part of the Holiday Trail event on Saturday, November 17th, featuring many stops at local businesses around town. Maps will be available and if you stop and get a stamp at the designated number of stops; you will be eligible for door prizes (one prize will be donated by each participating vendor). This year, the Silent Auction will be held for ONE FULL DAY!
We will have the auction on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH FROM 9 AM TO 3 PM, during the Holiday Trail, with a special preview and bidding beginning on Friday, November 16th from 1 pm to 5 pm.
At 3pm on Saturday, November 17th, we will cut off the bidding and winning bids will be able to be picked up until 4 pm. The winners who are not able to return for their items on that day, will have an opportunity to pick their items up the following Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, during library hours. The library will be closed this year for the Thanksgiving Holiday on November 22, 23, and 24th (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday).
Our hope with this big change is two-fold:
1) That all of our visitors can more actively bid and have a chance to win their items and pick them up the same day.
2) That we can accommodate those who are frequently out of town for the Thanksgiving Holiday and don't typically get to come back for final bidding the second Saturday.
This is also a reminder for all who still want to donate items for the auction. Please bring your items to the library and fill out a donor information sheet as soon as possible, so that we can begin processing everything. If you have questions on the type of items to donate, please contact me or any Friends member.
