*MONTELLO PUBLIC LIBRARY OPENING JULY 6 WITH GUIDELINES*

We thank you for your continued support throughout these confusing and trying times. Please note that this is an evolving situation, and any guidelines are subject to change and/or updating at any time. Please remember that there is nowhere that is 100% risk free. Our guidelines are based on suggestions from the health department, our city officials, board of trustees, and the CDC.

We feel these guidelines are necessary to ensure safety of staff and patrons.

We will reopen with new guidelines on Monday, July 6. Open hours will be 11am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. Visits on Saturday must be set up the previous week and will be by appointment.

Sanitize hands upon entering – extra sanitizing dispensers throughout the building.

Social distancing required and masks strongly encouraged. We have a supply available if you wish to wear one. Please avoid touching your face.

We will continue curbside pickup through the summer for those who are more comfortable, and we will encourage “Grab & Go” to pick up holds indoors.

No more than 3 patrons in the main part of the library at any time. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The only exception to the number of people allowed in library is if a family has more than 3 people in their immediate family, only that family will be allowed in together at that time. If the door is locked between 11 am and 4pm, this means that we are at capacity and you should step back and wait. We will let you in as soon as another person exits.

When returning items, you should place them in the book drop and not the front desk or counter. All items will be quarantined for 72 hours and then checked in. We will backdate the items to the day they were returned.

Patrons are encouraged to keep their visit to 15 minutes or less, unless you are set up in the meeting room with laptop/device or on workstation by appointment. If there are multiple patrons in the meeting room, social distancing must be observed.

Cleaning/sanitizing will be done to high-touch areas often, and we will wipe down equipment after computer/copier use. Computer A and C in the main library and the Express computer in the meeting room will be available for use. No gaming or streaming of movies/TV shows on workstations.

The water fountain will be unavailable at this time.

We ask that children under age 12 enter with an adult. Please try to keep children with you at all times and not unaccompanied throughout the library.

If browsing for materials, please sanitize before making selections or have staff pick out items for you.

If you have a fever, cough, or do not feel well, please stay home or utilize curbside pickup. Staff will be prepared to deal with symptomatic patrons in the library and act accordingly. Our safety and security outlines that if patrons are symptomatic, defined as “clearly exhibiting symptoms of cold or flu (ie. coughing, sneezing, etc) . . .staff reserves the right to ask you to wear a mask, leave, or remain in the lobby and we will retrieve your materials or provide services contactless”. This policy is for the safety of other patrons and our staff.

We will continue these guidelines for the foreseeable future, and we appreciate your patience!
